Set up the waiting-room queue display

Show called tickets and rooms on a waiting-room screen: connect, pair, call tickets and fix common problems.

Last reviewed: 2026-10-24

What the screen shows

Waiting-room display shows the ticket being called and its room. It is in early access.

  • Now calling: the ticket number and room, such as A-024 to Room 3, plus earlier and next tickets.
  • It never shows patient names, phone numbers, file numbers, diagnoses, notes, payments or appointment details. Only ticket numbers and room names.

Before you start

  • Owner or reception sets screens up; a doctor can call tickets but not create or revoke screens.
  • The TV needs a browser and internet, not a shared network with reception.
  • The screen, cables, HDMI, a small computer and installation are not provided or included in the subscription. See Pricing.

Choose how to connect

No Smart TV model or TV browser has been tested, only desktop browsers. Try your own TV first.

  • Smart TV with a compatible browser: open the address from the settings page and type the code.
  • Reception computer with an HDMI cable: press the Windows key and P, choose Extend (not Duplicate), open the address in a window, move only that window to the TV, then press Full screen.
  • A small device on the TV, used only for this screen: open only the address.

Pair the screen

  1. Open More, then Waiting-room display. The TV address is under Address to open on the TV.

  2. Add each room with Add room.

  3. Press Add a screen, type a Screen name and choose the Branch, Rooms shown and Practitioners shown (empty means all). Optional: Show the practitioner's published name, Chime when a ticket is called, Ticket prefix (optional) (A gives A-024), Screen language. Press Save.

  4. The 8-character code is valid for 15 minutes and works once. It is not shown again after Done or a reload.

  5. On the TV open the address, type the code and press Connect. It stays connected for up to a year or until revoked.

Call and call again

  1. On Today, choose the Room beside the patient in Waiting and press Call. The doctor's card has the same buttons.

  2. The ticket and room appear on the TV within a few seconds.

  3. Call again announces it again with a flash and a chime. Cancel call returns it to waiting.

Check that it works

  1. Check a test patient into the queue; never use real patient data.

  2. Press Call, watch the TV, then press Call again.

  3. Check that the time after «Last updated» keeps moving.

  4. Unplug the network briefly: the screen says the connection was lost, then recovers.

Sound and full screen

  • Sound is only an optional two-tone chime made by the browser. Nothing is spoken.
  • Browsers need a click first: on the TV press Turn on sound each time the screen opens. No sound? Check Sound is on, the TV volume and HDMI audio.
  • Press Full screen on the TV, or F11.

If something goes wrong

  • Code rejected: mistyped, expired or used. Press New code on that screen's line; it also moves a screen to a new TV.
  • TV says it was disconnected: the screen was revoked. Add a new one with Add a screen.
  • Nothing appears, or a ticket is missing: check the internet, the device's date and time, another browser, and the choices under Edit.
  • Clinic subscription not active: the display stops until it is. See Subscription.
  • Device lost, stolen or replaced: press Revoke. The screen stops within seconds.
